With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gérard Vasselin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sabri Groussard struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Gérard Vasselin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montanay. In the 18thth minute of the game Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Bêtise's Gérard Vasselin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eugène Richter kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Steevy Dumay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gérard Vasselin having to interfere. Gérard Vasselin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steevy Dumay in the 25th minute of play forced Real Bêtise's goalkeeper Gérard Vasselin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Sabri Groussard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montanay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sabri Groussard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Real Bêtise getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Eugène Richter hit a great ball. Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gérard Vasselin having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Real Bêtise's goal looked a bit too open when Sabri Groussard came free, but Gérard Vasselin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugène Richter kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. If Lorenzo Warnier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montanay's protests and gave Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th match minute, Montanay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux to maneuver through the defense. After 46 played minutes Real Bêtise got a freekick which was hit by Paul-Émile Achard. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

A hard shot 53 in the game by Steevy Dumay from a close distance when the talented Gérard Vasselin managed to make a qualified save. Real Bêtise's players were relieved. If Just Doucet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gérard Vasselin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabri Groussard, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Gérard Vasselin made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Steevy Dumay sent off a good shot on target. Gérard Vasselin stood somewhat misplaced when Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux came free in front of goal and shot 0-1 to the left of him in the 63 minute. Gérard Vasselin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sabri Groussard in the 67th minute. Baptiste Bras kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Montanay's Axel Pichaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Youssef Béal in the 70th minute of play. In the 74thth minute of the game Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Bêtise's Gérard Vasselin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Gérard Vasselin managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Montanay's Steevy Dumay fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gérard Vasselin having to interfere. If Steevy Dumay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gérard Vasselin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After 86 played minutes Real Bêtise got a freekick which was hit by Eugène Richter. Montanay were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Real Bêtise's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux took the corner. In the 89th minute, Real Bêtise's Dilan Romeo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dilan Romeo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Real Bêtise protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dilan Romeo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Real Bêtise:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Montanay:s goal. Jean-Christophe Desrousseaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Gérard Vasselin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Montanay played a much better game than Real Bêtise and deserved their victory. The Real Bêtise players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
