Denis Pignard made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Hugues Tison sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Nik Tamer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denis Pignard. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. In the 9th minute, Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Emanuel Munhoz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Denis Pignard. Denis Pignard yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Nik Tamer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denis Pignard. That made the score 3-0 after 15 minutes of play. A collision led to Mondelange getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Samuel Boucher hit a great ball. Nik Tamer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Pignard having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Nik Tamer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denis Pignard. Mondelange's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nik Tamer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Mohamed-Ali Duffaut hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Hugues Tison kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Denis Pignard. That made the score 5-0 in the 34 minute of play. Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrice Rochereau, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 43rd minute, Samuel Boucher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugues Tison could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Denis Pignard made a huge save.

The wind increased when Mohamed-Ali Duffaut made the kick off in the second half. Denis Pignard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugues Tison, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Nik Tamer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denis Pignard was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Denis Pignard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 67 played minutes Strasbourg ★ Union RC got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Munhoz. Denis Pignard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Ferrario in the 69th minute of play. Emanuel Munhoz took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denis Pignard. Denis Pignard dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Denis Pignard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Munhoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 minutes of play, Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Hugues Tison made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denis Pignard was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Nik Tamer in the 77th minute of play forced Mondelange's goalkeeper Denis Pignard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Emanuel Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Pignard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Pignard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Munhoz in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Aldo Ferrario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mondelange's Denis Pignard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nik Tamer in the 83rd minute of play. Nik Tamer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Denis Pignard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugues Tison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 88th play minutes Nik Tamer shot 10-0, a short shot which went by Denis Pignard and just under the crossbar into goal. Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Christian Fromage was substituted for Nik Tamer. With a little luck, Strasbourg ★ Union RC's Jean-Cyrille Valdenaire got control of the ball when Patrice Rochereau tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugues Tison in the 96th minute of play forced Mondelange's goalkeeper Denis Pignard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 98 minutes into the match, Mondelange's goal looked a bit too open when Hugues Tison came free, but Denis Pignard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 99 played minutes Mondelange got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Eynard. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Strasbourg ★ Union RC fully deserved thier win.
