The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 17 minutes, Martial Gobert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montagnole FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martial Gobert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Batiste Lavandier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute, Théophile Jullien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gameiro Pitiot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martial Gobert in the 29th minute of the match. Jean-Pierre Rouat made in the 32nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Dylan Bonnefon immediately put the ball in play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Batiste Lavandier in the 34th minute of play forced FC Bayeux's goalkeeper Gameiro Pitiot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gameiro Pitiot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olivier Serot in the 36th minute of play. The long shot by Patrick Le Gars in the 37th minute really tested Danny Arpin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Batiste Lavandier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gameiro Pitiot having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Martial Gobert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gameiro Pitiot was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Gameiro Pitiot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olivier Serot in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martial Gobert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gameiro Pitiot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martial Gobert, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The audience was convinced that Martial Gobert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gameiro Pitiot was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Martial Gobert struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Gameiro Pitiot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montagnole FC. FC Bayeux's Gameiro Pitiot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save FC Bayeux from getting a goal against them. 61 minutes into the match, Olivier Serot dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gameiro Pitiot, 0-1. In the 65th minute, Théophile Jullien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Bayeux fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 67th minute, Fabian Wiss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Montagnole FC's Batiste Lavandier managed to work through FC Bayeux's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Batiste Lavandier dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Gameiro Pitiot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Batiste Lavandier in the 75th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anatole Fichot in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gameiro Pitiot saved FC Bayeux from getting behind. Gameiro Pitiot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martial Gobert, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Olivier Serot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Le Gars got a throw-in 86 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dylan Bonnefon. A collision led to FC Bayeux getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Jean-Marc Rodriguez hit a great ball. Martial Gobert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gameiro Pitiot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Montagnole FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing FC Bayeux to leave the ground with a draw.
