The referee ignored Massy's protests and gave Firmin Josephine a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Massy's Firmin Josephine got a free kick in the 3rd minute. When Marinel's Quentin Viau in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Massy's goalie prevented a goal. Luis Maugard kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Massy's goal looked a bit too open when Quentin Viau came free, but Morgan Audoin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Morgan Audoin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Testud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Massy defense, Quentin Viau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Morgan Audoin. The Massy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Morgan Audoin should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the game, Greg Viollet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Massy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marinel the free kick. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Massy! The referee gave Marinel a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nathanaël Rouard, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Massy's Morgan Audoin. 0-2. In the 36th minute, Karl Lecat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Morgan Audoin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quentin Viau in the 38th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigue Goude was the one to do the kick off. Morgan Audoin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quentin Viau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Rodrigue Goude left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Massy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After 71 minutes, Rodrigue Goude made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Marinel's Stéphane Weibel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Marinel's zone, Marc-Antoine Bonne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stéphane Weibel came out of the goal and Marc-Antoine Bonne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc-Antoine Bonne in the 81st minute of play forced Marinel's goalkeeper Stéphane Weibel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stéphane Weibel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigue Goude in the 82nd minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Marinel got a freekick which was hit by Daryl Santini. In the 85th minute, Rodrigue Goude left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Massy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Stéphane Weibel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Maugard, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Karl Lecat charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl Lecat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Marinel booed when Massy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Lecat didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Massy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marinel had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
