After 28 played minutes Stade Rennais FC got a freekick which was hit by Hamid Badier. 32 minutes into the game, Gaspard Gunther was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stade Rennais FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Durotar Football Club the free kick. 40 minutes into the game, Romain Clapier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Everardo Silbestre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ahmed Brousse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulysse Sonnet to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Durotar Football Club getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Marin Le Ray hit a great ball. Stade Rennais FC's Vivien Desmonts got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paul Verhaeghe hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Stade Rennais FC's Romain Clapier got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jules Delas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Vivien Desmonts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute of the match Durotar Football Club got a corner. Stade Rennais FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karl Vaxelaire ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Durotar Football Club's corner Karl Vaxelaire fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joris Lahaye quite easily take care of the ball. The corner ended in Rémi Conrad almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Stade Rennais FC's Joris Lahaye did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ahmed Brousse in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joris Lahaye saved Stade Rennais FC from getting behind. Everardo Silbestre was a little too slow when Hamid Badier got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 1-4. Romain Clapier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Everardo Silbestre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Ernest Cariou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vivien Desmonts, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Everardo Silbestre made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Romain Clapier sent off a good shot on target. Everardo Silbestre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamid Badier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
