Jérémy Ghesquière hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 9 played minutes Stade Rennais FC got a freekick which was hit by Antonin Rondel. Sidney Jouvet took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joris Lahaye. Stade Rennais FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Martial Quilichini was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hamid Badier showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. In the 17th minute, Alfred Gachon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute, Stade Rennais FC's Hamid Badier dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Sidney Jouvet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joris Lahaye having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Stade Rennais FC's zone, Sidney Jouvet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joris Lahaye came out of the goal and Sidney Jouvet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute Sidney Jouvet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joris Lahaye saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sigaloux booed when Stade Rennais FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamid Badier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaspard Gunther sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Sigaloux getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Yoann Francheteau hit a great ball. Martial Quilichini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romain Clapier in the 40th minute. Stade Rennais FC's Alfred Gachon got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Sigaloux's Martial Quilichini got control of the ball when Romain Clapier tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute Sidney Jouvet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joris Lahaye saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Sigaloux's Martial Quilichini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romain Clapier in the 53rd minute of play. Kilian Seigle succeeded in the game's 55th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romain Clapier in the 60th minute of play forced Sigaloux's goalkeeper Martial Quilichini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sidney Jouvet in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joris Lahaye saved Stade Rennais FC from getting behind. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Stade Rennais FC! In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Sigaloux. Sidney Jouvet stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Joris Lahaye. 2-2. 73 minutes into the match, Sigaloux's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Gachon came free, but Martial Quilichini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hamid Badier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martial Quilichini was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Jérémy Ghesquière could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Joris Lahaye made a huge save. Alfred Gachon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sigaloux's Martial Quilichini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamid Badier in the 81st minute of play. After 88 minutes, Antony Sophie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stade Rennais FC and the Sigaloux players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamid Badier in the 91st minute of play forced Sigaloux's goalkeeper Martial Quilichini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Kilian Seigle got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Stade Rennais FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
