Alfred Gachon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Prosper Gillard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamid Badier in the 40th minute of the match.

56 minutes into the match, RvdU 1949 FC's Mourad Bonin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joris Lahaye narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ryan Giry came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the RvdU 1949 FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryan Giry couldn't finish the play. Luka Rioult didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Alfred Gachon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stade Rennais FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RvdU 1949 FC the free kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Mourad Bonin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joris Lahaye. That made the score 1-2 in the 70 minute of play. In the 74th minute, Gaspard Gunther hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Stade Rennais FC's zone, Mourad Bonin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joris Lahaye came out of the goal and Mourad Bonin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute RvdU 1949 FC were awarded a corner. Just Joanny went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led RvdU 1949 FC's Marc Touze to fire away a dangerous shot which Joris Lahaye despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. RvdU 1949 FC's Prosper Gillard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamid Badier in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Just Joanny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hamid Badier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Prosper Gillard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Touze kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Hamid Badier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prosper Gillard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Mourad Bonin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. RvdU 1949 FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
