After a defensive mix-up in Olympique de Mornas's zone, Geoffroy Cornil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Terry Ferreira came out of the goal and Geoffroy Cornil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the game, Basile Hivert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olympique de Mornas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gruchy the free kick. In the 12th minute, Basile Hivert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute Jean-Charles Vaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terry Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olympique de Mornas's Terry Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geoffroy Cornil in the 30th minute of play. Terry Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Charles Vaux in the 31st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean-Charles Vaux during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Gruchy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Charles Vaux to maneuver through the defense. Ahmid Carmona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoffroy Cornil in the 42nd minute of play forced Olympique de Mornas's goalkeeper Terry Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Mathis Rollier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Terry Ferreira. Olympique de Mornas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mathis Rollier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After the first half Gruchy were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geoffroy Cornil was the one to do the kick off. When Basile Hivert was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 52 minutes had been played. Basile Hivert kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Terry Ferreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jean-Charles Vaux in the 55th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guy Daurat during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Olympique de Mornas booed when Gruchy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy Daurat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Geoffroy Cornil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 0-3 became the score in the 64th minute when Geoffroy Cornil elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jean-Charles Vaux could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Terry Ferreira made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Gruchy's Geoffroy Cornil slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Terry Ferreira. That made the score 0-4 after 73 minutes of play. Ahmid Carmona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 94th minute Geoffroy Cornil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terry Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Gruchy's Terry Ferreira threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mathis Rollier, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Geoffroy Cornil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Terry Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Gruchy players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
