Noé Derville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bixente Poujol having to interfere. Daryl Jonquet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romuald Roesch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, US Montélimar's Robert Ferrière got a free kick in the 18th minute. With a little luck, Corbier's Bixente Poujol got control of the ball when Noël Bessou tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romuald Roesch in the 28th minute of play forced US Montélimar's goalkeeper Daryl Jonquet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Johan Dufrene hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Ibanez kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Robert Ferrière shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bixente Poujol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bixente Poujol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noël Bessou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bixente Poujol made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Noé Derville sent off a good shot on target. Corbier's Bixente Poujol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Dufrene in the 40th minute of play. If Pierre-Louis Ramette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alphonse Kermarrec was the one to do the kick off. Johan Dufrene scored 1-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bixente Poujol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 54 minutes into the match, Corbier's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Ferrière came free, but Bixente Poujol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bixente Poujol came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by US Montélimar's Noël Bessou. But to his dismay, Noël Bessou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Noël Bessou scored 3-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bixente Poujol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After recieving a nice pass, Corbier's Alphonse Kermarrec tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Romuald Roesch scored 3-1 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daryl Jonquet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Robert Ferrière struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Bixente Poujol didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for US Montélimar. Corbier's Alphonse Kermarrec got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daryl Jonquet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alphonse Kermarrec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Romuald Roesch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daryl Jonquet. US Montélimar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romuald Roesch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Daryl Jonquet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alphonse Kermarrec in the 80th minute of the match. US Montélimar's Daryl Jonquet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save US Montélimar from getting a goal against them. Noé Derville took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bixente Poujol. Bixente Poujol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. 88 minutes into the match, Corbier's goal looked a bit too open when Noël Bessou came free, but Bixente Poujol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Johan Dufrene had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bixente Poujol.
