Challans's Dorian Gergaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Ferrière in the 7th minute of play. US Montélimar's Robert Ferrière got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samir Le Roux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daryl Jonquet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertrand Demol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bertrand Demol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Robert Ferrière notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of F.C. Challans's Dorian Gergaud. Dorian Gergaud was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Samir Le Roux came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the F.C. Challans fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samir Le Roux couldn't finish the play. Daryl Jonquet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertrand Demol in the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half US Montélimar were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bertrand Demol made the kick off in the second half. If Robert Ferrière had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Ferrière in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dorian Gergaud prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Noé Derville had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noël Bessou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Dorian Gergaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Benjamin Schaff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert Ferrière struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Dorian Gergaud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for US Montélimar. Robert Ferrière fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorian Gergaud having to interfere. Noé Derville charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noé Derville the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Noé Derville hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Bertrand Demol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
