Spectators: 7966 (Terracing: 5976, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 158) Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antony Gimbert in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Honoré Descarpentries prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Honoré Descarpentries didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from César Cugnet went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Jolan Le Du had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Herlies's Antony Gimbert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honoré Descarpentries narrowly saved just below the crossbar. César Cugnet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Lelle's goal looked a bit too open when César Cugnet came free, but Honoré Descarpentries reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honoré Descarpentries made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antony Gimbert in the 31st minute of play. Honoré Descarpentries showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Cugnet, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Antony Gimbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Honoré Descarpentries tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Herlies were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Honoré Descarpentries took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antony Gimbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lokomotiv Lelle's Honoré Descarpentries played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antony Gimbert in the 56th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Bixente Fréchet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lokomotiv Lelle's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Éluard Ridet was slow to take the kick. During this time Herlies's players had a chance to rest. In the 63rdth minute of the game Antony Gimbert who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lokomotiv Lelle's Honoré Descarpentries was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 65th minute, one of Lokomotiv Lelle:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lokomotiv Lelle. In the 67th minute there was a penalty for Herlies. Éluard Ridet stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Honoré Descarpentries. 0-2. Thanks to some nice moves César Cugnet could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Honoré Descarpentries however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 75 minutes, Antony Gimbert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herlies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antony Gimbert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Lelle's goalkeeper Honoré Descarpentries had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by César Cugnet. A collision led to Herlies getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Mike Rochet hit a great ball. The Herlies fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Herlies's César Cugnet looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 87 played minutes Herlies got a freekick which was hit by Zinedine Ruaud. César Cugnet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honoré Descarpentries having to interfere. When Antony Gimbert came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Herlies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antony Gimbert couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lokomotiv Lelle's zone, Antony Gimbert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honoré Descarpentries came out of the goal and Antony Gimbert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Herlies could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lokomotiv Lelle throughout the match.
