The ball went over the crossbar instead. 13 minutes into the match, Lombardie's goalkeeper Mourad Grégoire had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Émilien Giraudo. Sidney Thevenot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertrand Rosier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walter Billion took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sidney Thevenot. Perrach's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bertrand Rosier might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sidney Thevenot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bertrand Rosier ran back to his position shaking his head. Sidney Thevenot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dominique Boinet's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Émilien Giraudo got free with Mourad Grégoire in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sidney Thevenot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laurent Baptiste went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Biguet in the 34th minute of play forced Lombardie's goalkeeper Mourad Grégoire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Lombardie's Laurent Baptiste sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sidney Thevenot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sidney Thevenot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominique Boinet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Dominique Boinet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Lombardie fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laurent Baptiste was the one to do the kick off. Mourad Grégoire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Yves Cozette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Perrach's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Laurent Baptiste was slow to take the kick. During this time Lombardie's players had a chance to rest. Lombardie's Laurent Baptiste was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sidney Thevenot in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Perrach getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Émilien Giraudo hit a great ball. In the 57th minute Laurent Baptiste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Thevenot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dominique Boinet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sidney Thevenot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Lombardie got a freekick which was hit by Walter Billion. If Jean-Yves Cozette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 played minutes Perrach got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Biot. The supporters of Perrach booed when Lombardie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan Gérault didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute of the match Ruben Biot sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mourad Grégoire skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laurent Baptiste in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sidney Thevenot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dominique Boinet's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 74thth minute, Sidney Thevenot skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Perrach's Jules Canivet got a free kick in the 74th minute. When Lombardie's Dominique Boinet in 83 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Sidney Thevenot guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Dominique Boinet who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Sidney Thevenot when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jean-Cyrille Schmid kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lombardie's zone, Émilien Giraudo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mourad Grégoire came out of the goal and Émilien Giraudo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Marco Biguet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mourad Grégoire was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. When Dominique Boinet came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Lombardie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dominique Boinet couldn't finish the play. Lombardie's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
