Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nicolas Rami got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob Chassard in the 2nd minute of play forced GENY's goalkeeper Martial Celton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martial Celton was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcelo Ramos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. Isaac Vermudo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Lions de Châteauroux booed when GENY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rémi Sarrazin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Youri Richou got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 3-0 in the right cross in the 20th match minute before Martial Celton had time to react. 24 minutes into the match, GENY's goalkeeper Martial Celton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Ramos. Modeste Métenier's late challenge caught a Lions de Châteauroux's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Modeste Métenier helped the player get up and apologised. If Youri Richou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Lions de Châteauroux's goal looked a bit too open when Jérémie Baudry came free, but Reynaldo Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Youri Richou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martial Celton having to interfere. After a rather tough play, GENY's Nicolas Rami got a free kick in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Youri Richou in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martial Celton saved GENY from getting behind. With a little luck, GENY's Martial Celton got control of the ball when Youri Richou tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lions de Châteauroux's Bob Chassard got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reynaldo Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Rami, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martial Celton was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Youri Richou capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Youri Richou really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

55 minutes into the match, Lions de Châteauroux's goalkeeper Reynaldo Gomes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Rami. In the 56th minute Bob Chassard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martial Celton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martial Celton came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Lions de Châteauroux's Youri Richou. But to his dismay, Youri Richou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Martial Celton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Youri Richou in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd match minute, Lions de Châteauroux was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Vermudo to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute of the match Rémi Sarrazin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reynaldo Gomes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 65 minutes, Youri Richou made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. GENY's Martial Celton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 69 minutes into the match, Youri Richou notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of GENY's Martial Celton. Martial Celton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 71st match minute, GENY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armand Réa to maneuver through the defense. GENY's Martial Celton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Youri Richou in the 73rd minute of play. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by GENY's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Denis Giurăscu was slow to take the kick. During this time Lions de Châteauroux's players had a chance to rest. Youri Richou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martial Celton having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in GENY's zone, Youri Richou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martial Celton came out of the goal and Youri Richou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Youri Richou in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martial Celton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Youri Richou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Martial Celton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Youri Richou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martial Celton was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Martial Celton came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Lions de Châteauroux's Youri Richou. But to his dismay, Youri Richou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Martial Celton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Chassard in the 93rd minute of play. When Lions de Châteauroux's Youri Richou in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GENY's goalie prevented a goal. In the 96th minute, Youri Richou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lions de Châteauroux fully deserved thier win.
