Jim Bannatyne made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Franklin Sarron sent off a good shot on target. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pélicans FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gilbert Paciuszko was slow to take the kick. During this time Football Wizards 59's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Football Wizards 59's corner Gilbert Paciuszko fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jim Bannatyne quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Sarron in the 9th minute of play forced Pélicans FC's goalkeeper Jim Bannatyne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jim Bannatyne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Sarron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Pélicans FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Guillaume Seret hit a great ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Gökçen Harmancı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Football Wizards 59's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gökçen Harmancı was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ognyan Klyashev got free with Jim Bannatyne in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Franklin Sarron sped through Pélicans FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jim Bannatyne. Marc-Aurèle Nortier struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Spyros Chatzakos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pélicans FC. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franklin Sarron made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Gilbert Paciuszko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Football Wizards 59's Spyros Chatzakos got control of the ball when Stanislas Bagot tried to sneak it across the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Ognyan Klyashev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Football Wizards 59's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pélicans FC the free kick. Ognyan Klyashev kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes Pélicans FC got a freekick which was hit by Guillaume Seret. A collision led to Pélicans FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Marc-Aurèle Nortier hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Franklin Sarron had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jim Bannatyne. Pélicans FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franklin Sarron was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 72 played minutes Football Wizards 59 got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Montes. Stanislas Bagot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Spyros Chatzakos having to interfere. After some careless play in the Pélicans FC defense, Ognyan Klyashev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jim Bannatyne. The Pélicans FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jim Bannatyne should have stopped the shot. Stanislas Bagot came free with the goalkeeper in the 80th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Spyros Chatzakos could save by the left post. In the 81st minute Clemente Montes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Bannatyne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Pélicans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Sarron came free, but Jim Bannatyne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jim Bannatyne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gökçen Harmancı in the 84th minute of the match. Ognyan Klyashev scored 5-0 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jim Bannatyne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 89th minute, Gilbert Paciuszko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ognyan Klyashev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jim Bannatyne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Franklin Sarron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Bannatyne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Didi Di Bari fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pélicans FC's protests and gave Didi Di Bari a yellow card for diving instead. Football Wizards 59's Justin Chambard was substituted for Ognyan Klyashev. After 96 played minutes Pélicans FC got a freekick which was hit by Didi Di Bari. In the 97th minute of the match Gilbert Paciuszko sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jim Bannatyne skillfully saved the ball. Pélicans FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
