The supporters of Saint Côme de Fresné booed when Bordeaux was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Pierre Hulin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th match minute, Bordeaux was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustapha Hummel to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute, Ahmid Balthazard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 31 played minutes Saint Côme de Fresné got a freekick which was hit by Jérémy Le Boucher. Cédric Micheneau took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Noël Péret. Saint Côme de Fresné's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cédric Micheneau scored 2-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noël Péret, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oxel Viñales made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl Touzard in the 39th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ahmid Balthazard to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrice Sénéchal in the 55th minute of play forced Bordeaux's goalkeeper Oxel Viñales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saint Côme de Fresné's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Jean-Pierre Hulin scored to the left of an out of position Noël Péret, making the score, 2-3. Saint Côme de Fresné's Noël Péret played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmid Balthazard in the 86th minute of play. If Karl Touzard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jean-Pierre Hulin came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Bordeaux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jean-Pierre Hulin couldn't finish the play. Bordeaux's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
