Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Pélicans FC's Stanislas Bagot started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean-Pierre Hulin got free with Jim Bannatyne in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marc-Aurèle Nortier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Oxel Viñales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jim Bannatyne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cédric Micheneau in the 7th minute. If Ahmid Balthazard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Guillaume Seret hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jim Bannatyne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmid Balthazard in the 16th minute of the match. Oxel Viñales made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 31st minute Marc-Aurèle Nortier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oxel Viñales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bordeaux's zone, Marc-Aurèle Nortier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oxel Viñales came out of the goal and Marc-Aurèle Nortier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oxel Viñales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc-Aurèle Nortier, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Oxel Viñales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanislas Bagot in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Marc-Aurèle Nortier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oxel Viñales was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Guillaume Seret hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

The crowd rose to their feet as Pélicans FC's Marc-Aurèle Nortier slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Oxel Viñales. That made the score 0-3 after 52 minutes of play. Marvin Horel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmid Balthazard in the 57th minute of play forced Pélicans FC's goalkeeper Jim Bannatyne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute of the match, Anatole Le Lay got a very nice opportunity to score, but Oxel Viñales was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 59th minute of the match Pélicans FC got a corner. Bordeaux's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Silverio Dino ran over to the corner to take the kick. Silverio Dino made a great header on Pélicans FC's corner, it was just that Bordeaux's Oxel Viñales managed to reach the ball for a save. Jean-Pierre Hulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Bannatyne having to interfere. Pélicans FC's Jim Bannatyne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Pierre Hulin in the 68th minute of play. If Marc-Aurèle Nortier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Pélicans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cédric Micheneau came free, but Jim Bannatyne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oxel Viñales was a little too slow when Marc-Aurèle Nortier got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 0-4. With a little luck, Bordeaux's Oxel Viñales got control of the ball when Stanislas Bagot tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Bordeaux defense, Stanislas Bagot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oxel Viñales. The Bordeaux fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oxel Viñales should have stopped the shot. Pélicans FC's Marc-Aurèle Nortier was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 88th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Marc-Aurèle Nortier was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Pélicans FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
