The audience thought a goal was coming when Charly Boisson got free with Humberto Grabiel in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dilan Bobet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mario Ba's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Dilan Bobet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Ba in the 21st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Ziani during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bruno Ziani hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Charly Boisson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Humberto Grabiel made a huge save. After 29 minutes Étoile du Sud's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Charly Boisson who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Charly Boisson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Humberto Grabiel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Rannou in the 37th minute of play forced Étoile du Sud's goalkeeper Humberto Grabiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Étoile du Sud's Mario Ba got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Grabiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Rannou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Arthur Rannou kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Humberto Grabiel. That made the score 2-0 in the 45 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After 51 minutes, Arthur Rannou made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Étoile du Sud's Humberto Grabiel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Chaponnay FC booed when Étoile du Sud was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Michel Chênot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arthur Rannou took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Humberto Grabiel. Dilan Bobet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Charly Boisson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chaponnay FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Charly Boisson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Grabiel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 75 minutes into the game, Charly Boisson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chaponnay FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Étoile du Sud the free kick. A collision led to Chaponnay FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Charly Boisson hit a great ball. Chaponnay FC made a substitution. Renaud Houzet replaced Charly Boisson.
