Guy Gagnaire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Humberto Grabiel made a huge save. Humberto Grabiel made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Guy Gagnaire sent off a good shot on target. Humberto Grabiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guy Gagnaire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jérôme Couvelard during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Étoile du Sud's Jérôme Couvelard got a free kick in the 30th minute. During the 33rd minute of the match Jérôme Couvelard completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jérôme Couvelard a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guy Gagnaire was the one to do the kick off. Étoile du Sud's Humberto Grabiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy Gagnaire in the 63rd minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Étoile du Sud's goal looked a bit too open when Guy Gagnaire came free, but Humberto Grabiel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ludomir Tipinski got free with Maël Romanet in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute, Romain Ferrere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reyrieux walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
