gipsy kings's Fabrice Gamet started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th match minute, gipsy kings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Jardel to maneuver through the defense. Kyriakos Koulos charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kyriakos Koulos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, OUS Cognac was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kyriakos Koulos to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of gipsy kings booed when OUS Cognac was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Théophile Bodereau didn't get a good kick on the ball. OUS Cognac's Paul-Émile Gendrot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save OUS Cognac from getting a goal against them. In the 14th minute, gipsy kings's Amaury Leone ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paul-Émile Gendrot. Paul-Émile Gendrot yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After 17 minutes, José Broutin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the gipsy kings and the OUS Cognac players grew even worse after the yellow card. José Broutin hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Paul-Émile Gendrot was a little too slow when Amaury Leone got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 3-0. In the 23rd minute, Salvidor Matuta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul-Émile Gendrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grégoire Lamouroux in the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute of the match, Gabriel Périn tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paul-Émile Gendrot saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Paul-Émile Gendrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grégoire Lamouroux in the 33rd minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Fabrice Gamet dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paul-Émile Gendrot, 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joachim Favreau to make the kick off. Paul-Émile Gendrot came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by gipsy kings's Gabriel Périn. But to his dismay, Gabriel Périn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. 60 minutes into the game, Joachim Favreau recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jean-Pascal Weiss. Joachim Favreau showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-1. After a rather tough play, gipsy kings's Fabrice Gamet got a free kick in the 64th minute. Amaury Leone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul-Émile Gendrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrice Gamet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Broutin got his second yellow card in the match during the 71st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 71st minute, José Broutin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Théophile Bodereau charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Théophile Bodereau the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joachim Favreau hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, gipsy kings's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Salvidor Matuta fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Samy Soufflet's late challenge caught a OUS Cognac's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samy Soufflet helped the player get up and apologised. Samy Soufflet kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 86 minutes in the game Grégoire Lamouroux did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Amaury Leone. Grégoire Lamouroux made in the 89th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Samy Soufflet however managed to control. Jean-Pascal Weiss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Favreau in the 92nd minute of play. Luc Cassagne kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. gipsy kings fully deserved thier win.
