After a defensive mix-up in gipsy kings's zone, Máximo Decimo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Pascal Weiss came out of the goal and Máximo Decimo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the game, gipsy kings's Amaury Leone nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugues Lahousse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Aureo Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Jean-Pascal Weiss made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Fotis Kouklakis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jean-Pascal Weiss. That made the score 3-1 in the 22 minute of play. Wawrzyniec Drugi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Pascal Weiss having to interfere. Jean-Pascal Weiss was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Fotis Kouklakis capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fotis Kouklakis really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. Hugues Lahousse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabrice Gamet's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Jean-Pascal Weiss made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fotis Kouklakis in the 33rd minute. Máximo Decimo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-1 in the 35th playminute. After 38 played minutes gipsy kings got a freekick which was hit by Walter Jardel. Marius Do's shot from long distance in the 39th minute was not bad at all, but gipsy kings's Jean-Pascal Weiss knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post.

The wind increased when Máximo Decimo made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes gipsy kings got a freekick which was hit by Fabrice Gamet. 54 minutes into the match, gipsy kings's goal looked a bit too open when Wawrzyniec Drugi came free, but Jean-Pascal Weiss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugene Porter struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Jean-Pascal Weiss didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for marseille. Máximo Decimo took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jean-Pascal Weiss. Jean-Pascal Weiss dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 12-1. Jean-Pascal Weiss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureo Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 87 minutes into the game, marseille's Máximo Decimo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. But to his dismay, Máximo Decimo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 14-1. 95 minutes into the match, Máximo Decimo notched a goal, 15-1, to the right of gipsy kings's Jean-Pascal Weiss. Jean-Pascal Weiss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the marseille players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
