After a rather tough play, marseïlle's Danny Girouard got a free kick in the 7th minute. Rémi Dif took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jolan Riffaud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Louvil getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Stanislas Sigrist hit a great ball. Louvil's Timothé Bastin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Viallet in the 14th minute of play. After some careless play in the Louvil defense, Samuel Viallet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timothé Bastin. The Louvil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timothé Bastin should have stopped the shot. Stanislas Royer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Timothé Bastin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Louvil's Anthony Cosquer got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Samuel Viallet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The marseïlle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 31 minutes into the match, Louvil's Jolan Riffaud sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rémi Dif narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Jolan Riffaud had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rémi Dif. marseïlle's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jolan Riffaud was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel Viallet to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Louvil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacques Nussbaum to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Louvil getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jacques Nussbaum hit a great ball. After 57 played minutes Louvil got a freekick which was hit by Junior Aube. 62 minutes into the match, marseïlle's Samuel Viallet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timothé Bastin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Louvil's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Danny Girouard scored to the left of an out of position Timothé Bastin, making the score, 2-4. After 72 minutes, Jacques Nussbaum mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Louvil and the marseïlle players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Jacques Nussbaum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timothé Bastin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanislas Royer in the 77th minute of the match. Honoré Weill made in the 89th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Louvil's Jacques Nussbaum. When Melvin Abdallah fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Louvil's protests and gave Melvin Abdallah a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Louvil getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Melvin Abdallah hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Louvil's zone, Stanislas Royer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timothé Bastin came out of the goal and Stanislas Royer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over marseïlle could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Louvil throughout the match.
