With his leg Dave Rinaldi managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Herblay's Norbert Cadart fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ludomil Kajdasz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stéphane Gaudy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 minutes, Christian Minaud mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elegance Dijon and the Herblay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Léon Monnet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Rinaldi having to interfere. Ludomil Kajdasz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Minaud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabien Cantin made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Fabien Cantin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ludomil Kajdasz, 0-1. Christian Minaud struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Ludomil Kajdasz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elegance Dijon. Herblay's Ben Girouard was substituted for Billy Magnin. Dave Rinaldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léon Monnet in the 63rd minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Elegance Dijon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the Elegance Dijon defense, Léon Monnet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dave Rinaldi. The Elegance Dijon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dave Rinaldi should have stopped the shot. 69 minutes into the match, Elegance Dijon's goal looked a bit too open when Léon Monnet came free, but Dave Rinaldi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dave Rinaldi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitri Bougault, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 86th minute Dimitri Bougault shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Rinaldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ludomil Kajdasz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stéphane Gaudy in the 89th minute of the match. Léon Monnet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Dave Rinaldi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elegance Dijon's goalkeeper Dave Rinaldi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
