Léon Monnet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Souris in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ludomil Kajdasz saved Herblay from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonin Dagorne during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Antonin Dagorne. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Herblay's goalkeeper Ludomil Kajdasz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 14thth minute of the game Firman Morientes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the match, En Avant Nikko's goal looked a bit too open when Léon Monnet came free, but Silvestre Derwin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvestre Derwin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léon Monnet, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The Herblay fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Herblay's Antonin Dagorne looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ludomil Kajdasz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilbert Reix in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute, Nathanaël Foulonneau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz got control of the ball when Firman Morientes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute, Léon Monnet made a precise shot to the right of Silvestre Derwin. En Avant Nikko's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ludomil Kajdasz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omer Vandevoorde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Herblay's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Souris came free, but Ludomil Kajdasz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Firman Morientes managed to get in a good position for a shot. En Avant Nikko's supporters rose to their feet, but Firman Morientes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ludomil Kajdasz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 42 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Sylvain Missonnier.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Léon Monnet to make the kick off. Djamel Malouda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dimitri Bougault came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Herblay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dimitri Bougault couldn't finish the play. En Avant Nikko's Gösta Sellberg got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ludomil Kajdasz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Firman Morientes in the 67th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Firman Morientes in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ludomil Kajdasz saved Herblay from getting behind. After some careless play in the Herblay defense, Firman Morientes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ludomil Kajdasz. The Herblay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ludomil Kajdasz should have stopped the shot. En Avant Nikko's Gösta Sellberg got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th match minute, En Avant Nikko was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Reix to maneuver through the defense. Gilbert Reix's late challenge caught a Herblay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilbert Reix helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th minute Gösta Sellberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Kajdasz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ludomil Kajdasz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Firman Morientes in the 88th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Norbert Cadart managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herblay's supporters rose to their feet, but Norbert Cadart was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvestre Derwin was a little too slow when Léon Monnet got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Herblay eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
