Guy Durant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guy Durant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonin Dagorne in the 16th minute of the match. When Lyon 69ers's Mathias Lecanu in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Herblay's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Anatol Hönes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ludomil Kajdasz. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. When Antonin Dagorne came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Herblay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonin Dagorne couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léon Monnet in the 35th minute of play forced Lyon 69ers's goalkeeper Guy Durant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lyon 69ers's Guy Durant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonin Dagorne in the 37th minute of play. Herblay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Holger Duusgaard in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léon Monnet in the 44th minute of play forced Lyon 69ers's goalkeeper Guy Durant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Anatol Hönes took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Ludomil Kajdasz to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Léon Monnet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guy Durant made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Léon Monnet sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 55 minutes, Antonin Dagorne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herblay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antonin Dagorne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ludomil Kajdasz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anatol Hönes, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. When Herblay's Antonin Dagorne in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Abeitia in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of Herblay booed when Lyon 69ers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Lecanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Mathias Lecanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Lyon 69ers's Guy Durant got control of the ball when Léon Monnet tried to sneak it across the goal line. Norbert Cadart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lyon 69ers's Jean-Marc Gesbert was substituted for Wendell Borges. After 91 played minutes Lyon 69ers got a freekick which was hit by Rodolphe Sol. After having played for 92 minutes, Dimitri Bougault managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herblay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dimitri Bougault was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Abeitia in the 96th minute of play. Lyon 69ers's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
