The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tanek Zurawski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabien Canu in the 9th minute of the match. Fabien Canu might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tanek Zurawski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabien Canu ran back to his position shaking his head. 13 minutes into the match, Les Pionniers de Touraine's goal looked a bit too open when Fabien Canu came free, but Tanek Zurawski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abraham Beauval struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Cedric Van Langhendoncx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Les Pionniers de Touraine. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabien Canu in the 21st minute of play forced Les Pionniers de Touraine's goalkeeper Tanek Zurawski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Abraham Beauval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cedric Van Langhendoncx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Fabien Canu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tanek Zurawski was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Tanek Zurawski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabien Canu, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Les Pionniers de Touraine's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Taillade ran over to the corner to take the kick. 55 minutes into the match, Les Pionniers de Touraine's goal looked a bit too open when Fabien Canu came free, but Tanek Zurawski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabien Canu in the 55th minute of play forced Les Pionniers de Touraine's goalkeeper Tanek Zurawski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cedric Van Langhendoncx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Beauval in the 60th minute of play. 62 minutes in the game, Fabien Canu dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Les Pionniers de Touraine made a substitution. Hervé Malaise replaced Raphaël Lallemand. Cedric Van Langhendoncx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hervé Malaise in the 66th minute of play. A throw-in in the 68th minute of the game was made by Derviş Okan with Fabien Canu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 71 minutes into the match, Les Pionniers de Touraine's goal looked a bit too open when Fabien Canu came free, but Tanek Zurawski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hervé Malaise took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cedric Van Langhendoncx. After 85 played minutes Lunar Park got a freekick which was hit by Derviş Okan. 87 minutes into the match, Les Pionniers de Touraine's goalkeeper Tanek Zurawski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabien Canu. Fabien Canu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tanek Zurawski having to make a save. With an all-out effort, Lunar Park's Tanek Zurawski threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabien Canu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Les Pionniers de Touraine's Tanek Zurawski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabien Canu in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Hervé Malaise had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cedric Van Langhendoncx. Lunar Park's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hervé Malaise was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Les Pionniers de Touraine fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lunar Park had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
