The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Rydz got free with Fabio Bastida in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Crescencio Companys's late challenge caught a Villanueva F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Crescencio Companys helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Castañedo getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Crescencio Companys hit a great ball. Villanueva F.C's Israel Mingo got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 47 minutes, Jan Rydz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villanueva F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Rydz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Eugenio Grau made the kick off in the second half. Fabio Bastida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ioseba Martínez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Rydz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Fabio Bastida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Villanueva F.C's Fran Benito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Bastida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Israel Mingo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Bastida having to interfere. If Fran Benito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Jan Rydz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villanueva F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. During the 96th minute of the match Joaquin Nobo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Joaquin Nobo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
