After a defensive mix-up in R.C.ARENAS's zone, Justino Dobale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Cortes came out of the goal and Justino Dobale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Quinton Paredes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leandro Cortes was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Quinton Paredes might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leandro Cortes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Quinton Paredes ran back to his position shaking his head. Leandro Cortes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quinton Paredes in the 66th minute of play. When Nisio Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the R.C.ARENAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nisio Ortiz couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute, Aladino Urbieta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute Nisio Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonsalve Gimenez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
