With an all-out effort, Corella's Fulgencio Escurza threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gitano Aballe, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 43 minutes of play, Albacete Balompié S.A.D.'s Celino Valverde made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rufo Iniesta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gitano Aballe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Haimar Quesada struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute.
