Tabb Velazquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Selmo Hidalgo's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After 16 minutes, Xilo Idiaquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abinzano AFC and the RCD. Espanyol players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Omar Jurado managed to get in a good position for a shot. RCD. Espanyol's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Jurado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tabb Velazquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Desiderio Mondejar made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Karlos Sabina sent off a good shot on target. RCD. Espanyol's Selmo Hidalgo got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benja Lara's late challenge caught a Abinzano AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benja Lara helped the player get up and apologised. Iñaki Novo kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Abinzano AFC's Tello Soler tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Karlos Sabinas short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Desiderio Mondejar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 1-0 became the score in the 36th minute when Karlos Sabina elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Karlos Sabina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Desiderio Mondejar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisito Justo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Omar Jurado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 44 minutes into the game, RCD. Espanyol's Selmo Hidalgo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tabb Velazquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Desiderio Mondejar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisito Justo in the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Selmo Hidalgo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, RCD. Espanyol's Ostadar Herrera got a free kick in the 58th minute. Luisito Justo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benja Lara hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 75 played minutes RCD. Espanyol got a freekick which was hit by Ostadar Herrera. When Abinzano AFC's Karlos Sabina in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RCD. In the 91st minute of the match Tello Soler sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Desiderio Mondejar skillfully saved the ball. After 92 minutes, Luisito Justo made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. RCD. Espanyol's Desiderio Mondejar tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisito Justo in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Desiderio Mondejar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the RCD. Espanyol players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Abinzano AFC.
