The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Natalio Toledo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rayo astur's Natalio Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Rayo astur from getting a goal against them. Natalio Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Porfiro Gene in the 7th minute of the match. Natalio Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Porfiro Gene in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Rayo astur's goal looked a bit too open when Porfiro Gene came free, but Natalio Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mel Molina hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Jashtag's goalkeeper Mauricio Andres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mauricio Andres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Aizpurua, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21st match minute, El Jashtag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Porfiro Gene to maneuver through the defense. Justino Aizpurua scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauricio Andres, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Justino Aizpurua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andoni Antunez in the 28th minute of play forced El Jashtag's goalkeeper Mauricio Andres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31st play minutes Perrando Morcego shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Mauricio Andres and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo Lastras got free with Natalio Toledo in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, El Jashtag's Natalio Toledo threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Porfiro Gene, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Natalio Toledo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benja Viejo went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Porfiro Gene in the 41st minute of play forced Rayo astur's goalkeeper Natalio Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd match minute, El Jashtag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beltran Guasch to maneuver through the defense. If Justino Aizpurua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rayo astur's Natalio Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Rayo astur from getting a goal against them. Abelardo Lastras could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Natalio Toledo made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Porfiro Gene was the one to do the kick off. Rayo astur's Natalio Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beltran Guasch in the 55th minute of play. Beltran Guasch took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natalio Toledo. Natalio Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Justino Aizpurua was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee felt a red card was in order, 63 minutes into the game, when Reinaldo Parra put in a rough tackle. In the 64th match minute, Rayo astur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Parra to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Rayo astur's zone, Antolin Lillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natalio Toledo came out of the goal and Antolin Lillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andoni Antunez got free with Mauricio Andres in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Andoni Antunez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rayo astur's supporters rose to their feet, but Andoni Antunez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauricio Andres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andoni Antunez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Andoni Antunez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Porfiro Gene took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natalio Toledo. Natalio Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. In the 85th minute, Abelardo Lastras made a precise shot to the right of Natalio Toledo. Rayo astur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. Rayo astur's Natalio Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Porfiro Gene in the 88th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Porfiro Gene shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rayo astur's Ezequiel Sobera got a free kick in the 94th minute. Rayo astur's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
