Gartzea De la Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosalio Cortes in the 5th minute of the match. In the 7th minute Itoiz CD were awarded a corner. Baltasar Contreras went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rosalio Cortes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but pipos f.c's Gartzea De la Rosa did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in pipos f.c's zone, Domingo Paredes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gartzea De la Rosa came out of the goal and Domingo Paredes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis-Miguel Lermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martín Valverde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in pipos f.c's zone, Rosalio Cortes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gartzea De la Rosa came out of the goal and Rosalio Cortes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martín Valverde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Benedicto in the 21st minute of play. Rosalio Cortes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Gartzea De la Rosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luis-Miguel Lermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Itoiz CD's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Benedicto came free, but Martín Valverde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rosalio Cortes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilabertus Quintana hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Luis-Miguel Lermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Andolin Serra fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored pipos f.c's protests and gave Andolin Serra a yellow card for diving instead. Domingo Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rosalio Cortes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, pipos f.c was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Musko Campello to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of pipos f.c booed when Itoiz CD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabián Otero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martín Valverde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis-Miguel Lermo's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. After 62 played minutes Itoiz CD got a freekick which was hit by Fabián Otero. 66 minutes into the match, pipos f.c's goalkeeper Gartzea De la Rosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Domingo Paredes. Itoiz CD's Domingo Paredes got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Juan De Pablo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. pipos f.c's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itoiz CD the free kick. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for pipos f.c! In the 83rd minute, Rosalio Cortes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Guilabertus Quintana hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the pipos f.c defense, Rosalio Cortes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gartzea De la Rosa. The pipos f.c fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gartzea De la Rosa should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute, pipos f.c's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rosalio Cortes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 95th minute, Diego Benedicto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Itoiz CD eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
