When Che Grau fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.ATLETiCO ORION's protests and gave Che Grau a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Montehermoso's Jakes Barrientos tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ventura Toledo got free with Anaya Cacheres in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jakes Barrientos's late challenge caught a C.ATLETiCO ORION's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jakes Barrientos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th match minute, Montehermoso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jakes Barrientos to maneuver through the defense. If Peru Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anaya Contratas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iratze Rodriguez hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. C.ATLETiCO ORION's Aurelio Camara couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 17th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Montehermoso. Anaya Contratas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Aranzubia having to interfere. Virgilio Aranzubia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peru Lara in the 22nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bartolo Castellano during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bartolo Castellano kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Anaya Contratas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.ATLETiCO ORION's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anaya Contratas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Montehermoso's Virgilio Aranzubia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peru Lara in the 34th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Montehermoso's zone, Peru Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Aranzubia came out of the goal and Peru Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgilio Aranzubia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peru Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Peru Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgilio Aranzubia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peru Lara ran back to his position shaking his head.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Peru Lara made a kick off. Montehermoso's Virgilio Aranzubia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peru Lara in the 52nd minute of play. Virgilio Aranzubia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peru Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 65th minute Peru Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Aranzubia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th match minute, Montehermoso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paquito Rua to maneuver through the defense. Peru Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Aranzubia having to interfere. The long shot by Paul Torrent in the 95th minute really tested Virgilio Aranzubia's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C.ATLETiCO ORION eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
