Real Madrid's Isidro Bouzon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Real Madrid from getting a goal against them. Cabassers's Brais Segura suffered a sore foot after 4 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Yosua Marin charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yosua Marin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cabassers booed when Real Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yosua Marin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giraldo Cuadrado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Ledo in the 7th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baltazar Ledo in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giraldo Cuadrado saved Cabassers from getting behind. 13 minutes into the game, Real Madrid's Baltazar Ledo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giraldo Cuadrado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Baltazar Ledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giraldo Cuadrado having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Cabassers's goal looked a bit too open when Boni Roig came free, but Giraldo Cuadrado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boni Roig in the 27th minute of play forced Cabassers's goalkeeper Giraldo Cuadrado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giraldo Cuadrado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Ledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute Yosua Marin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giraldo Cuadrado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giraldo Cuadrado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Ledo in the 32nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boni Roig in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giraldo Cuadrado saved Cabassers from getting behind. Giraldo Cuadrado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dubardo Iniesta's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Giraldo Cuadrado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Ledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Real Madrid's Isidro Bouzon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Montaña in the 44th minute of play. Patricio Montaña hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baltazar Ledo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Yiyo Aranzubia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cabassers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Patricio Montaña blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isidro Bouzon having to make a save. 62 minutes into the match, Cabassers's goalkeeper Giraldo Cuadrado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yosua Marin. Yosua Marin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giraldo Cuadrado having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Boni Roig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giraldo Cuadrado. Cabassers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Boni Roig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid's Baltazar Ledo got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cabassers's goalkeeper Giraldo Cuadrado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Fabricio Soldado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Giraldo Cuadrado. Fabricio Soldado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Fabricio Soldado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madrid's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabricio Soldado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giraldo Cuadrado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giraldo Cuadrado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yosua Marin in the 82nd minute. 86 minutes into the game, Patricio Montaña was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cabassers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madrid the free kick. After 87 played minutes Cabassers got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Montaña. Boni Roig received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Giraldo Cuadrado came out and tried to block the shot, but Boni Roig slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 88th minute. Giraldo Cuadrado made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Baltazar Ledo sent off a good shot on target. Baltazar Ledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giraldo Cuadrado having to interfere.
