When Leroy Quintana fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tuña CF's protests and gave Leroy Quintana a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Tuña CF got a freekick which was hit by Leroy Quintana. Avellano Zamora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sixto Zapater, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 24 played minutes Tuña CF got a freekick which was hit by Leroy Quintana. Toro Ferrer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zoel Font blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roberto Hevia having to make a save. When Sixto Zapater fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tuña CF's protests and gave Sixto Zapater a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tuña CF getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Sixto Zapater hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toro Ferrer in the 30th minute of play forced Tuña CF's goalkeeper Roberto Hevia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the game, one of Tuña CF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sixto Zapater got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Varta FC booed when Tuña CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Zapater didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roberto Hevia came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Varta FC's Toro Ferrer. But to his dismay, Toro Ferrer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Varta FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zoel Font stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Romualdo Vagrande managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tuña CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Romualdo Vagrande was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Avellano Zamora breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th match minute, Varta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francis Climent to maneuver through the defense. Zoel Font sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romualdo Vagrande charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romualdo Vagrande the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zoel Font in the 71st minute of play forced Tuña CF's goalkeeper Roberto Hevia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zoel Font struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Roberto Hevia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varta FC. Varta FC's Toro Ferrer got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toro Ferrer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Hevia having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doroteo Ramis during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Doroteo Ramis hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the game, Toro Ferrer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Roberto Hevia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Zoel Font's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roberto Hevia was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
