Sondika FC's Tirso Rey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Aguilo in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Aris Milonas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hilario Aguilo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tirso Rey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Aguilo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Aris Milonas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Hilario Aguilo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tirso Rey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ofelio Mayol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Hyrule were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 62nd minute of the match Hyrule got a corner. Sondika FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aliecer Cortes ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Alvito Lacorte heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Agusti Briso shot from long distance in the 64th minute, but Tirso Rey was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. If Hilario Aguilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Sondika FC's José Paz got a free kick in the 71st minute. Hilario Aguilo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tirso Rey having to make a save. Hilario Aguilo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvino Nobo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nacho Morales's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. A collision led to Hyrule getting a freekick after 88 minutes play.
