When Pascal Ortega came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Calveliño Do Monte CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Ortega couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Serafín Vadillos made the kick off in the second half. The Calveliño Do Monte CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Piorno Carceles should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Calveliño Do Monte CF booed when C.D. Tenerife was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marciano Fuente didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Bouzas in the 95th minute of play forced Calveliño Do Monte CF's goalkeeper Piorno Carceles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. C.D. Tenerife were victorious despite being under pressure from Calveliño Do Monte CF for much of the match.
