After a defensive mix-up in Montgat's zone, César Pais stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivón Ramiréz came out of the goal and César Pais tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Montgat's Ivón Ramiréz got control of the ball when César Pais tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Lico Verdaguer fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montgat's protests and gave Lico Verdaguer a yellow card for diving instead. If César Pais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hector-Luis Abascal to strike the kick off in the second half. If Hector-Luis Abascal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When César Pais fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lowes's protests and gave César Pais a yellow card for diving instead. César Pais kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Hector-Luis Abascal struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mohamed Leyva in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mero Palomares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fructuoso Tobias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mero Palomares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Huly Arribas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivón Ramiréz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector-Luis Abascal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Fructuoso Tobias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mero Palomares. That made the score 1-1 in the 84 minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
