The corner led Benamocarra SAD's Milton Reina to fire away a dangerous shot which Luis-Miguel Teresa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luis-Miguel Teresa made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Iyan Sanz sent off a good shot on target. Gijón Fútbol's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Fiz Sierra scored to the left of an out of position Luis-Miguel Teresa, making the score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiz Sierra in the 44th minute of play forced Gijón Fútbol's goalkeeper Luis-Miguel Teresa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fiz Sierra struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Luis-Miguel Teresa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Benamocarra SAD. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iyan Sanz couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience was convinced that Omar Incera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asteri Quintero was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Omar Incera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asteri Quintero having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gijón Fútbol players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
