Gijón Fútbol's Luis-Miguel Teresa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerrald Garrido in the 6th minute of play. Jerrald Garrido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis-Miguel Teresa having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, Santa Mera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yosua Abril to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute Ramón Gonzalez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathaniel Coleman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gijón Fútbol's Luis-Miguel Teresa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerrald Garrido in the 15th minute of play. If Jerrald Garrido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jerrald Garrido came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Santa Mera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerrald Garrido couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerrald Garrido in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luis-Miguel Teresa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 25 minutes into the match, Gijón Fútbol's goal looked a bit too open when Jerrald Garrido came free, but Luis-Miguel Teresa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 played minutes Santa Mera got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Olmedo. Nathaniel Coleman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Incera, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. A collision led to Santa Mera getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Bernardo Olmedo hit a great ball. When Santa Mera's Jerrald Garrido in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gijón Fútbol's goalie prevented a goal. The Gijón Fútbol players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santa Mera were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Omar Incera made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Incera in the 55th minute of play forced Santa Mera's goalkeeper Nathaniel Coleman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 57 minutes, Jerrald Garrido mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa Mera and the Gijón Fútbol players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Qwinton Gonzalvez put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nathaniel Coleman. In the 62nd match minute, Gijón Fútbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Santiago to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Luis-Miguel Teresa managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Santa Mera's Jerrald Garrido fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luis-Miguel Teresa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvar Gomar in the 65th minute. Odon De Pedro hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Jerrald Garrido who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Luis-Miguel Teresa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Gijón Fútbol getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Qwinton Gonzalvez hit a great ball. Alvar Gomar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis-Miguel Teresa having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Jerrald Garrido notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Gijón Fútbol's Luis-Miguel Teresa. Luis-Miguel Teresa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jerrald Garrido blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luis-Miguel Teresa having to make a save. 83 minutes into the match, Gijón Fútbol's goalkeeper Luis-Miguel Teresa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerrald Garrido. Gijón Fútbol's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jerrald Garrido 85 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. If Alvar Gomar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nacho Casillas kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Santa Mera's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
