The crowd rose to their feet as Ovidio Caminero kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cerilo Ladra. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. If Ovidio Caminero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th match minute, Sporting de Veles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Zubizarreta to maneuver through the defense. When Tello Lagunas fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting de Veles's protests and gave Tello Lagunas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cadiz c.f booed when Sporting de Veles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tello Lagunas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Airas Campomanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincente Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vincente Pardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute Oliverios Abajas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Airas Campomanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Cadiz c.f's Victoriano Cuervas tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Airas Campomanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quirze Ocaña, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute, Oliverios Abajas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cadiz c.f fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Roberto Llorente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cerilo Ladra having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Roberto Llorente managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting de Veles's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Llorente was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cerilo Ladra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ovidio Caminero came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Sporting de Veles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Caminero couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute, Cadiz c.f's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ovidio Caminero fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 44 played minutes Cadiz c.f got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Cuervas. If Ovidio Caminero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ovidio Caminero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With 53 minutes on the clock, Mustafá Pabon commited a dangerous tackle. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Airas Campomanes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 95th minute, Cadiz c.f's Oliverios Abajas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Cadiz c.f were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Sporting de Veles's much stronger midfield.
