Xabier Moreira hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Macabeo Gabas in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciriaco Ramis saved Pirates FC from getting behind. If Karlo Garate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Karlo Garate made the kick off in the second half. Quico Cayuela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zabal Elguero, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Zabal Elguero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pirates FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zabal Elguero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quico Cayuela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Pirates FC booed when La Ampuyenta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Migúel Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quico Cayuela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zabal Elguero, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Karlo Garate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Quico Cayuela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
