Valentín Alcalde charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valentín Alcalde the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valentín Alcalde kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Matola CF's Beltran Valines sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hernán Bermejo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cedro Acedo kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Macerio Aizpurua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aketza Cartagena having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Benjamin Villanueva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aketza Cartagena was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 18th match minute, AD Nuevo Amanecer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Abasalo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Matola CF booed when AD Nuevo Amanecer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tauro Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, AD Nuevo Amanecer's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nikola Idiaquez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. AD Nuevo Amanecer's Benjamin Villanueva got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamin Villanueva in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aketza Cartagena saved Matola CF from getting behind. Macerio Aizpurua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Aketza Cartagena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjamin Villanueva in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aketza Cartagena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41stth minute of the game Benjamin Villanueva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matola CF's Aketza Cartagena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Matola CF's zone, Benjamin Villanueva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aketza Cartagena came out of the goal and Benjamin Villanueva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matola CF's Aketza Cartagena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Macerio Aizpurua in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benjamin Villanueva to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Zoel Espinosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Matola CF defense, Benjamin Villanueva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aketza Cartagena. The Matola CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aketza Cartagena should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eneto Jofre during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Matola CF's zone, Benjamin Villanueva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aketza Cartagena came out of the goal and Benjamin Villanueva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Matola CF getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Beltran Valines hit a great ball. Aketza Cartagena stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benjamin Villanueva's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the match, Macerio Aizpurua dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aketza Cartagena, 0-3. Macerio Aizpurua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aketza Cartagena having to interfere. AD Nuevo Amanecer's Valentín Alcalde got his second yellow card of the match in the 77th minute. The referee ordered Valentín Alcalde off the ground. Valentín Alcalde kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Aketza Cartagena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Macerio Aizpurua in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Rafa Abasalo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aketza Cartagena was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. When Jacinto Companys came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the AD Nuevo Amanecer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Companys couldn't finish the play. Macerio Aizpurua struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Aketza Cartagena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AD Nuevo Amanecer. Benjamin Villanueva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Aketza Cartagena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AD Nuevo Amanecer played a much better game than Matola CF and deserved their victory. The Matola CF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
