With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eneas Cortes in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Liberto Caballero saved Basarrate FC from getting behind. In the 48th minute Eneas Cortes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liberto Caballero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilio March to make the kick off. Vilafortuny Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Pio Dellasierra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liberto Caballero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Vilafortuny Academy's Eneas Cortes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Liberto Caballero. That made the score 0-2 after 61 minutes of play.
