After some careless play in the UE Lleida defense, Mergildo Marquez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haroldo Abellan. The UE Lleida fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Abellan should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the match, UE Lleida's goal looked a bit too open when Mergildo Marquez came free, but Haroldo Abellan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mergildo Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Abellan having to interfere. Galsino Madariaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arbidel Macia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejandro Zubizarreta hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Xalvador Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Haroldo Abellan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Mergildo Marquez made a precise shot to the right of Haroldo Abellan. UE Lleida's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After having played for 38 minutes, Mergildo Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Torralba De Ribota's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mergildo Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Zavier Benito came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the UE Lleida fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zavier Benito couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Arbidel Macia made the kick off in the second half. Galsino Madariaga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arbidel Macia's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Torralba De Ribota's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xalvador Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th match minute, Torralba De Ribota was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lazaro Palanques to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arbidel Macia in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Galsino Madariaga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 85th minute, Mergildo Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mergildo Marquez might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haroldo Abellan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mergildo Marquez ran back to his position shaking his head. Torralba De Ribota's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
