Llorian Alabern kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lion Halland's zone, Jacob Moreno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haitz Torrente came out of the goal and Jacob Moreno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Goren Elias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Juan Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Goren Elias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Extremadura U.D.'s Juan Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noé Griego in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Lion Halland getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Llorian Alabern hit a great ball. Luis-Jose Cienfuegos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Noé Griego managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lion Halland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noé Griego was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giorgio Canyelles's late challenge caught a Lion Halland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giorgio Canyelles helped the player get up and apologised. Giorgio Canyelles kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Extremadura U.D.'s Juan Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Extremadura U.D. from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noé Griego in the 46th minute of play forced Extremadura U.D.'s goalkeeper Juan Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Noé Griego made the kick off in the second half. Lion Halland's Haitz Torrente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Moreno in the 51st minute of play. If Goren Elias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Extremadura U.D.'s Juan Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noé Griego in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th minute Iván Blazquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haitz Torrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Marquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noé Griego in the 76th minute of play. Lion Halland's Goren Elias got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 played minutes Extremadura U.D. got a freekick which was hit by Giorgio Canyelles. If Luis-Jose Cienfuegos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Extremadura U.D.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
