Irusta CF's Marcial Cabrera managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Espiridion Redondo in the 14 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Climent in the 17th minute of play forced Irusta CF's goalkeeper Barto Molina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Irusta CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcial Cabrera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geleberto Quintana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Espiridion Redondo made in the 40th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Irusta CF's Marcial Cabrera. Geleberto Quintana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nemesio Garay in the 46th minute of play. Rufo Caballero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Geleberto Quintana having to make a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amancio Climent was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Nemesio Garay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Irusta CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nemesio Garay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Padilla Del Ducado SAD's Geleberto Quintana got control of the ball when Rufo Caballero tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Padilla Del Ducado SAD's zone, Illan Gonzáles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geleberto Quintana came out of the goal and Illan Gonzáles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Artzai Ortiz struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Geleberto Quintana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irusta CF. Hilario Valverde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geleberto Quintana having to interfere. Irusta CF's Barto Molina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Noya in the 64th minute of play. When Rufo Caballero came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Irusta CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rufo Caballero couldn't finish the play. Artzai Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geleberto Quintana having to interfere.
