The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Garikoitz Ponte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Baltazar Montaña tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltazar Montaña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garikoitz Ponte, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garikoitz Ponte made a kick off. Eloy Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yader Casero having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Germán Molina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boni Canyelles didn't quite understand what happened when in the 55 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético River Plate's zone, Baltazar Sobera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Montaña came out of the goal and Baltazar Sobera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicholas Mas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Yader Casero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicholas Mas might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yader Casero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After some careless play in the Torrejon Del Rey defense, Anselmo Gutierrez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yader Casero. The Torrejon Del Rey fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yader Casero should have stopped the shot. Club Atlético River Plate were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Torrejon Del Rey for a fine match.
