Xabier Marquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pascual Pascua read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Xabier Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pascual Pascua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desiderio Leyva in the 17th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Desiderio Leyva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pereda UD's supporters rose to their feet, but Desiderio Leyva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pascual Pascua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xabier Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xabier Marquez in the 30th minute of play forced Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Pascual Pascua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Desiderio Leyva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Pascual Pascua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 36 played minutes Punto Fijo got a freekick which was hit by Rogelio Avila. Pascual Pascua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xabier Marquez in the 38th minute of the match. If Desiderio Leyva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45thth minute of the game Desiderio Leyva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Punto Fijo's Pascual Pascua was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Xabier Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Pascual Pascua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reyes Turrilla was the one to do the kick off. Xabier Marquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pascual Pascua having to make a save. Salbatore Cabanela charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Pereda UD's Salbatore Cabanela got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Xabier Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pereda UD's Xabier Marquez in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Punto Fijo's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Pereda UD booed when Punto Fijo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oxel Elguero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pascual Pascua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xabier Marquez in the 67th minute of the match. Desiderio Leyva might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pascual Pascua. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Desiderio Leyva ran back to his position shaking his head. 72 minutes into the match, Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Pascual Pascua had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Desiderio Leyva. Desiderio Leyva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Pascual Pascua made a huge save. After having played for 75 minutes, Desiderio Leyva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pereda UD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Desiderio Leyva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pascual Pascua made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Desiderio Leyva sent off a good shot on target. If Xabier Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Pascual Pascua, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Reyes Turrilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Punto Fijo's Pascual Pascua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xabier Marquez in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute of the match Florian Reyes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pascual Pascua showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pereda UD were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Punto Fijo to leave the ground with a draw.
