But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iosu Cortes couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute, Alfons Acarreta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Straw Hat's goalkeeper Miguel Alarcon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 15 played minutes La Pobleta got a freekick which was hit by Yvon Rallo. In the 17th minute, Ciceron Camino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfons Acarreta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Iosu Cortes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Alarcon was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. The Straw Hat fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Alarcon should have stopped the shot. In the 45th minute, Alfons Acarreta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yvon Rallo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Miguel Alarcon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iosu Cortes to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Iosu Cortes sped through Straw Hat's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Miguel Alarcon. After 60 played minutes La Pobleta got a freekick which was hit by Alfons Acarreta. In the 61st minute Anier Nevada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cheche Rey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 played minutes Straw Hat got a freekick which was hit by Luar Palacios. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Straw Hat's goalkeeper Miguel Alarcon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 70 played minutes La Pobleta got a freekick which was hit by Iosu Cortes. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Straw Hat's goalkeeper Miguel Alarcon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Miguel Alarcon didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 85th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. If Ciceron Camino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. When the match was over La Pobleta could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Straw Hat throughout the match.
