Racing Club's Gonsalvo Talavera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Máximo Zubiaga in the 5th minute of play. Rami Jorquera received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gonsalvo Talavera came out and tried to block the shot, but Rami Jorquera slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. Aristeo Harroyo might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan-Pablo Huerta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aristeo Harroyo ran back to his position shaking his head. Jesús Duran scored 1-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juan-Pablo Huerta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Jesús Duran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Jesús Duran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan-Pablo Huerta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Macias Bastida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 20thth minute of the game Jesús Duran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Portús AFC's Juan-Pablo Huerta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Behe Quiroga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan-Pablo Huerta was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 30th minute of the match, Rami Jorquera tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gonsalvo Talavera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, El Portús AFC's Rami Jorquera got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Behe Quiroga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 37 minutes into the match, El Portús AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jesús Duran came free, but Juan-Pablo Huerta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Behe Quiroga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Juan-Pablo Huerta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gonsalvo Talavera was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Máximo Zubiaga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Máximo Zubiaga really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Aristeo Harroyo made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, El Portús AFC's goalkeeper Juan-Pablo Huerta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jesús Duran. Racing Club's Macias Bastida got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Aristeo Harroyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juan-Pablo Huerta stood somewhat misplaced when Behe Quiroga came free in front of goal and shot 2-4 to the left of him in the 59 minute. Racing Club's Behe Quiroga got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in El Portús AFC's zone, Jesús Duran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan-Pablo Huerta came out of the goal and Jesús Duran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 67 minutes of play, Racing Club's Behe Quiroga made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan-Pablo Huerta was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Aristeo Harroyo took a quick shot and it went in 2-7 without a chance for Juan-Pablo Huerta to make any attempt to save it. 82 minutes into the match, El Portús AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Behe Quiroga came free, but Juan-Pablo Huerta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. El Portús AFC's Juan-Pablo Huerta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save El Portús AFC from getting a goal against them. The attack was good, but when Aristeo Harroyo in the 85th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Jesús Duran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Juan-Pablo Huerta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to El Portús AFC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Blasco Sánchez hit a great ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of El Portús AFC's goalie and right to Aznaro Blanco. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. El Portús AFC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Macias Bastida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Juan-Pablo Huerta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Racing Club left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than El Portús AFC.
